WRAPPED PUNKS
HOME / THESIS

THE THESIS

A fungible community token can gain transferable visual identity without surrendering verifiable redemption.

1. Fungibility Meets Identity

Fungible tokens are easy to divide and trade, but every unit looks the same. Collectibles provide identity and visual expression, yet ownership can become detached from measurable backing. WRAPPED PUNKS connects the two forms.

2. One Punk, One Vault

Wrapping moves the amount configured by the on-chain program into an isolated vault and creates a Metaplex Core Punk. The Punk is not a receipt controlled by the original depositor: it is the transferable redemption key.

The central property: when the Punk is sold or transferred, redemption authority moves with it automatically. Only the current Core asset owner can burn it and retrieve the complete balance of its associated vault.

3. Reversible Supply Locking

While a Punk exists, its backing is outside the token's active circulating wallets. Unwrapping reverses the position atomically. This is a reversible lock—not a token burn—and the website makes that distinction explicit.

4. Verifiability Over Promises

The useful claim is narrow and checkable: a live backing record, Core asset, vault authority, token account, and configured mint must agree on chain. Market prices, rarity premiums, and liquidity are external outcomes and are never guaranteed by the protocol.

5. A pump.fun-Native Experiment

The final launch token is expected to originate on pump.fun. Its mint is intentionally not compiled into the program; it will be inspected and bound during initialization only when the deployment and launch parameters are ready.
